Everett Raymond Kinstler, N.A.Everett Raymond Kinstler, N.A.

Regarded as one of the most admired portrait artists of our time, Ray Kinstler studied at the Art Students League, where he later taught. Notable among his subjects have been John Wayne, Katharine Hepburn, Tennessee Williams and Tom Wolfe.

Kinstler has painted from life over fifty U.S. cabinet members. Five presidents have posed for him. His paintings of Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan are the official White House portraits.

His work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. Kinstler's work has received many honors and awards including the John Singleton Copley Award from the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery in 1999 and the National Arts Club Gold Medal in 1998.

fostering and enhancing the practice, aesthetics and applications of traditional, fine art portraiture.
Membership is open to all individuals with an interest in the art of the portrait.
